How to Use Lasting with Your Therapist
Make the most out of Lasting by chatting with your therapist about how the app can supplement your current therapy plan.
Here are a few suggestions:
If you’re in individual therapy, use Lasting as a way to engage your partner, who may not be ready to join you in couples therapy.
Decide with your therapist which sessions you will complete between sessions.
Take a Lasting session with your therapist during an in-person session.
Use the work you’ve completed in Lasting as a starting point for conversation. This might look like telling your therapist, "This was interesting to me. Can we unpack that together?" Maybe even, "I found myself feeling angry when I read my partner’s response. Can we talk about it?"
If both you and your partner are in therapy, set aside time at the beginning of each session to discuss your most recent comparison.
And don’t hesitate to reach out to meaghan@getlasting.com with any questions. We’re rooting for you.
What is Lasting?
There are thousands of approaches to couples therapy, but only a few are proven to help. So, we asked, “What if we took the best approaches and designed a new experience?” The result was the Lasting app, based on 126 scientific studies. It’s become the nation’s no. 1 relationship counseling app.
Rooted in Attachment Theory, Lasting helps couples nurture their emotional connection, using elements of Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Couples Therapy, and mindfulness practices.
